Thin Film Technician I, II, & III
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Operates deposition systems to produce coated components.
Please provide the Technician level that is being applied for.
Technician I Requirements
Thin Film Techician I. Under direct supervision performs the following tasks:
Cleans and performs routine inspection and measurement of substrates to ensure quality. Will typically perform spin cleaning operations and work on smaller optics.
Loads parts into chambers, Foils chambers, Changes targets, Performs regens, and Sets up tooling
May use spectrophotometer to perform scans of optical components
Beadblasts chamber components
Performs basic chamber maintenance
Starts coating runs
Rebuilds sources with supervision (ebeam)
– Qualifications –
High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
Able to work with a team in a fast pace production environment
Able to quickly adapt to changes in production schedule.
Previous work experience in process manufacturing environment desired, but not required
Technician II Requirements
Thin Film Technician II Is proficient in and performs all TF Tech I tasks. Additional skills include, but are not limited to:
Cleans, inspects and measures more advanced/complex substrates to ensure quality. Will typically perform work on crystals and larger optics that require hand cleaning.
Performs design adjustments to meet spectral requirements
Troubleshoots hardware
Able to read and comprehend prints for determining specs on surface quality, substrate dimensions, arrow marking for side one and side two, packaging requirements
Performs second check chamber start
Rebuilds sources (Ebeam only)
Conditions sources
– Qualifications –
High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
Typically has minimum of 3+ year optics experience at the Company or related industry experience
Teamwork – works effectively within team. Can provide guidance to Tech I.
Able to work with a team in a fast pace production environment
Able to quickly adapt to changes in production schedule.
Technician III Requirements
Thin Film Technician III Is proficient in and performs all TF Tech I & II tasks. Additional skills include, but are not limited to:
Perform stress correction calculation (IBS only)
Rebuilds sources (e-beam only)
Performs design adjustments to meet spectral requirements
Troubleshoots process
Schedules preventative maintenance
Performs TF design adjustments
Assist with training of Tech I’s, II’s, and III’s
Performs high level maintenance on chambers
Validates QC checks, Job logistics, Makes process corrections, & Schedules Chambers
– Qualifications –
AA degree or equivalent experience desired.
Typically will have 5+ years experience at the Company or related industry experience.
Teamwork – works effectively within team. Can provide guidance to Tech I & II.
Able to work with a team in a fast pace production environment.
Able to quickly adapt to changes in production schedule.
