NanoSense offers novel nanophotonic sensing substrates that are precisely engineered for environmental chemical sensing and molecular fingerprint identification.

Our premiere substrates, Nanoporous Anodic Aluminum Oxide Sensing Chips (NAAO) and gold-coated Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering NAAO Chips (SERS-NAAO), are fabricated using inexpensive non-lithographic methods to produce chemically resistant, thermally stable, durable and biocompatible substrates.

The enhanced sensing performance of NAAOs is based on the interaction between the incident light source (laser, white light, LED) and the nanopore-imbedded molecular system of choice. In addition to SERS, NAAO chips can be applied to multiple sensing platforms such as reflectometric interference spectroscopy (RIfS), surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy (SPR), and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL).
